      We will examine the rationale for policy intervention in the context of innovation. We will discuss different policy interventions and their effectiveness. Among other topics, we will address the relevance of institutions in fostering innovation, the importance of state-funded research, and the effectiveness of grant programs, tax incentives, and subsidies. In the lecture, students will familiarize themselves with various theoretical frameworks and methods of causal inference.
